Code of Ethics

This Code of Ethics governs the rights and obligations of the members of the ROADRUNNERS club, an association of members with a passion for driving sports cars (hereinafter the “Club”), in particular during Club events held in the Czech Republic and abroad. By submitting an application or participating in a Club event, the member confirms that they have read and agree to the contents of this Code.

The Club is built on trust, mutual support among its members and a positive atmosphere. Club members undertake to observe the principles of good morals and to act in accordance with generally recognised ethical standards. The foundation is courteous conduct, mutual respect and consideration. Members shall refrain from any conduct that would undermine trust or create a hostile atmosphere.

Safety is the highest priority and an inseparable part of all Club activities. Club members undertake to observe the principles of safe driving and to follow the organisers’ instructions at all events, drives and meets. The purpose of membership is the sharing of experiences, the shared joy of driving and the strengthening of the community; members shall therefore refrain from any mutual competitiveness, risky behaviour or other conduct that could endanger themselves or others. Motoring is inherently dangerous, and despite the adoption of reasonable precautions, accidents may occur during Club events. By their membership, Club members confirm that they are aware of these risks and participate in events at their own risk and responsibility.

A participant in a Club event is any Club member who has registered for a specific Club event and whose participation in the event has been confirmed by the Club.

A Club member wishing to participate in a Club event must hold a valid driving licence and be fit to drive a vehicle.

All members undertake that, during Club events, they will not endanger themselves, other participants or vehicles, whether intentionally or through gross negligence. Members further undertake to observe the road traffic rules of the country in which the Club event takes place, as well as the organisers’ instructions and route directions. The organisers’ instructions — in whatever form — must be respected and followed throughout the entire duration of the event. Members further undertake to behave considerately towards other event participants, in particular to respect speed limits, maintain sufficient following distances and overtake only in a safe manner. For the purposes of this Code, safe overtaking means exclusively overtaking on the left and only on straight sections; overtaking in corners is prohibited.

The consumption of alcohol or intoxicating substances that may impair attention, reactions or the ability to drive a vehicle safely is prohibited during Club events. Participation in a Club event under the influence of such substances is likewise prohibited.

In the case of events organised outside public roads, in particular on closed circuits or private tracks, Club members undertake to follow the organiser’s instructions and to observe all specific rules and safety measures applicable to the given circuit or track. A breach of these rules may constitute grounds for disciplinary measures under this Code.

Members are responsible for the condition and operation of their vehicle and shall ensure its technical fitness and safe use at all Club events. Members further acknowledge that a vehicle inspection certificate alone is not sufficient to demonstrate the vehicle’s fitness for use at these events. Before each drive, members are obliged to inspect the vehicle thoroughly, in particular with regard to the increased demands placed on its technical condition by the specific Club event. The Club may, without compensation, refuse the participation of a member with a vehicle that, in the Club’s judgement, could endanger the safety of traffic, the vehicle’s occupants or other event participants.

Members participating in a Club event undertake that their vehicle meets, in particular, the following technical requirements:

Members also undertake to respect the technical requirements and instructions of the respective operators of private circuits or tracks, which may be stricter than the Club’s general rules.

Any participation by Club members in racing or in the conduct of illegal competitions on public roads is strictly prohibited. A breach of this provision will be regarded as a serious violation of the Club’s Code of Ethics and may result in the termination of membership.

The taking, storing and sharing of photographs, video recordings or other audiovisual materials from Club events is permissible only with full respect for the right to privacy and the protection of personal data under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (GDPR) and related legislation. Sharing of recordings is permitted exclusively with the prior consent of the persons identifiable in them.

Members are obliged to notify the Club’s management without delay of any breach of the rules or conduct that could endanger safety or damage the good name of the Club.

Club members are obliged to hold valid third-party motor liability insurance, in accordance with the applicable legislation, for the vehicle with which they participate in a Club event. Where a Club event takes place outside the territory of the Czech Republic, the participant is obliged to ensure that this insurance is valid and effective in the country in which the Club event is held. Beyond this obligation, the Club recommends that participants arrange comprehensive (collision) vehicle insurance and, in the case of Club events abroad, also travel insurance covering risks associated with driving a motor vehicle.

Members participate in all Club events at their own risk and responsibility and undertake to arrange insurance appropriate to the nature of the Club’s activities. Each member is fully liable for any damage to their own vehicle, as well as for damage they cause by their conduct to other participants in Club events or to third parties, their property or their health. Passengers and guests of members likewise participate in Club events at their own risk and responsibility. The member is responsible for their safe conduct and their compliance with the rules of this Code.

The Club shall not be liable for any harm, loss, injury or damage of any kind, regardless of its cause, suffered by members, passengers, their guests, their property or third parties in connection with participation in Club events. In the event of claims by third parties, members expressly declare that the Club and its representatives are released from all liability for such claims.

The Club is furthermore not liable for any offences or other unlawful conduct committed by Club members during a Club event.

Repeated or serious violations of the Code of Ethics may result in a reprimand, temporary suspension or termination of membership. The Club’s management takes measures transparently and fairly, with the aim of preserving safety and maintaining a positive and friendly Club environment.

This Code enters into force and effect on 1 February 2026.
